Welcome to the UK’s friendliest outdoors festival!

Come and share your love of the outdoors with 400 other like-minded folk at Base Camp Festival 2025 – the small and friendly festival for over-18s. Located in a very special corner of the Lake District, the festival site provides the perfect base for exploring the surrounding fells and crags, accessing the pristine waters of Buttermere, and enjoying the friendly atmosphere and numerous talks, films, workshops, music and other activities we have on-site.

Base Camp Festival

Stunning Location

Occupying an idyllic position at the eastern end of Buttermere, Gatesgarth Farm is surrounded by famous Lakeland fells including High Stile, Robinson, Buttermere Fell and Fleetwith Pike.

Free Activities

We'll have a SUPs available to use and experts on hand to help guide you, a mobile climbing wall, free yoga sessions, and plenty of other activities to keep you busy during the festival!

Learn a New Skill

Sign up for one of our sessions to learn/advance your outdoor skills. We also have local textile artist Jane on site teaching needlefelting so you can create and take home a memento from the area!

Live Music

We're bringing bands from near and far to keep you entertained in the evenings. Our two main acts include McKenna for their UK debut, and Toast who are joining us from the Highlands.

Great Food and Drink

We've partnered with local businesses to bring you a variety of food and drink throughout the festival. Be sure to stop by the Base Camp Bar to enjoy a pint of our bespoke festival brew!
